This burnisher is made using brass and rosewood with a 1/8Ó high speed steel rod (M2 with a hardness of 65 on the Rockwell scale) inserted through the brass round bar. A few strokes of the hardened steel over the edge of the scraper Òturns the edgeÓ easily and the resulting burr takes fine shavings resulting in smooth finish on the wood. |
